Oh, I thought "real name" would appear there. Anyway, I was wondering if I could put the four tildes in a default sig so the computer would remember them for me. Do you have the power to add a signature box to the editing form and preload it with four tildes? [[User:Jrfisher|Jrfisher]] 13:14, 17 Aug 2005 (PDT)

Hi Jeff, welcome to Electowiki! When you are editing a talk page, make sure you sign your comments, with either three tildes ("~~~") for your name only or preferably four tildes for your name and a time/date stamp ("~~~~"). Thanks! -- RobLa 12:25, 17 Aug 2005 (PDT)

Is there a default sig setting somewhere? I went through all of the preferences tabs, but I missed it if it was there. Jrfisher 12:38, 17 Aug 2005 (PDT)

You can change your "nickname", so that your posts can be signed "Jeff" or "Jeff Fisher" rather than Jrfisher. That's in the "User data" preference pane. For example, I temporarily changed my nickname to "Rob Lanphier" -- Rob Lanphier 12:42, 17 Aug 2005 (PDT)
